The Manila Police District (MPD) has heightened security in the capital city two weeks ahead of the annual grand massive miracle crusade.
Around 10,000 policemen will be deployed to maintain order and security during the event, according to a Monday report on GMA News TV's Balitanghali.
The MPD also said they plan to install 20-feet container vans on the roads that will be closed off during the procession as well as barbed wires above the Ayala Bridge.
The Manila City government earlier announced the road closures and re-routing schemes for the Traslacion.
Classes in all levels for both public and private schools, as well as office work in the local government, will also be suspended on Thursday.
The Metro Manila Development Authority’s personnel, medical teams, and traffic mobile cars are also on standby for the procession. — Julia Mari Ornedo/RSJ, GMA News
