Classes, gov't work suspended in Manila on Jan. 18-21 due to grand miracle crusade

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has suspended classes in the city on January 19-20 in observance of the annual grand massive miracle crusade where millions of Catholic devotees are expected to attend.

The suspension covers classes in all universities and colleges.

Likewise, Moreno also ordered the suspension of work in all departments, offices and bureaus under the Manila City government except those involved in maintaining peace and order, public services, traffic enforcement, disaster risk reduction and management as well as sanitation.

"Suspension of work in national government offices and private companies is left to the discretion of their respective management and or heads of office," the Manila Public Information Office said in a post on Facebook. —KBK, GMA News
