Regal dishes out ‘hugot’-filled tale by Crispina Martinez - Belen August 8, 2016

Regal Entertainment’s “That Thing Called Tanga Na,” which opens tomorrow, Aug. 10, in cinemas nationwide, has been described as a “hugot comedy” quite different from the usual romantic fare.
Directed by multi-awarded Joel Lamangan, the flick stars Eric Quizon, Billy Crawford, Kean Cipriano, Martin Escudero and Angeline Quinto.
The story of “That Thing Called Tanga Na” revolves around five friends, four gay men and a lady. Each has a unique tale to tell.
Eric plays Ronnie Chui, a rich lawyer and Pinoy movie fan who freaks out when he discovers his boy toy is having an affair with a gay talent manager. Billy is a closeted gay working as security guard. His live-in partner has a medical condition which is why he has to work so hard.
Kean is CC, owner of an onlineclothing company, who is planning his wedding to his boyfriend of five years in Central Park, New York. Unknown to him, his boyfriend is already engaged to a Korean girl, and he will be tapped to design the bride’s wedding gown.
On the other hand, Martin plays a transgender named Georgette/George. He financially supports his boyfriend and his family. Angeline is Shirley, the only girl in the group. She is a trying-hard singer and an events specialist married to an irresponsible guy who fathered her a child.
