A new SM logo

I'm guessing they want to break the formality of the former logos? As @thethirtysixth said, intentional yung pagkaka-tilt ng logo. Surely, they've consulted branding experts about this redesign, and if ever it doesn't work out, they can simply change it again. They have all the money and resources in the world so "fixing" these small details won't be a problem if they see an actual need to "fix" them.

I don't see any problem with the tilting of the logo, I mean there's a reason naman kung bakit siya naka-tilt.

Kagaya nga nung sabi sa Annual Report ng SM, "the refreshed SM logo brings renewed energy to our brand, evolving it as it takes its place among the best brands in the world.."

Earlier today, I attended the SM Young Business Innovators Summit and had the opportunity to personally ask about the new logo.

The talks for the refresh started pre-pandemic and they said that there's more to expect with the rebranding this June/July.

During the summit, they've mentioned that:

(1) SM is the 2nd largest mall operator in the world.

(2) SM Malls Online is the world's first omnichannel Hyper-local Fulfillment model by a mall retailer.

(3) More SM Bowling/SM Storyland branches will be converted into formats similar to SM Bowling Fairview and Game Park Southmall.

(4) Continuation of Cinema renovations that were slowed down by the lockdowns.

(5) A new global brand will be coming to the Philippines.

Did you ask which SM Cinema branches will be next renovated? because from an insider that SM Cinema Megamall and SM Cinema Valenzuela will be the next to renovate.

Yung Global Brand ba na tinutukoy nila is Urban Revivo??

^^ If I’m not mistaken, sporting global brand yung tinutukoy.

I don't really mind with the logo being tilt tbh. I think the tilted logo is just for SM stores and other SM Brands.

All Watlermart Malls have the same store fixtures: Waltermart Dept. Store, Waltermart Supermarket, Abensons, Watsons, BDO, Ace Hardware, Chatime & KFC same with the recent malls that they opened. For sure hahabol yung Mr. D.I.Y. I think Chatime & KFC has a contract with Waltermart to open branches at their malls

Don't forget Abenson Home. Wish the new mall had cinemas since there aren't any Cinemas in that area. but I guess they can't afford to open cinemas since most people prefer going to SM or Ayala Cinemas for movies and because they don't have the budget for it and they only focus on the essential ones.

Bye SM Hypermarket Nova! Char.

Anyway may Mr. DIY sa Hypermarket (less than a year pa lang ata yun) so will be surprised if magopen din sila dito. Pwedeng Japan Home na lang.

I think it's time for them to renovate since makaluma na yung interiors nila and medyo madumi tingnan.

I think they don't because of the initial plan to demolish it and rebuild it as SM City South Nova (together with the Eton lot across the road). Pero more than a decade na yun wala pa rin balita if tuloy.

Aside from the proposed SM City South Novaliches, the video will show the 3D renditions of proposed projects such as SM City Tuguegarao, SM City Sorsogon, SM City Tanza, SM Mall of Asia redevelopment, SM City Manila Annex, SM City Marikina New Parking Building, SM City Bataan, SM City Santo Tomas, SM City Santa Rosa - The Core Tower 2, SM City Santa Rosa Expansion, SM City Calamba Expansion, SM City Tarlac Expansion, SM City Taytay Expansion, SM City Cauayan Expansion, SM Megacenter Cabanatuan Expansion, SM City Santo Tomas, SM City Bataan, SM Santa Rosa Yulo, SM San Jose Nueva Ecija, SM Bagumbong, SM City Sucat Building B Redevelopment, SM City Masinag Carpark Building and Expansion Bridgelink Redevelopment, SM Zamboanga, SM City Cebu Northwing Expansion, SM City Pampanga - Phase 2, SM City Bicutan Expansion, SM City Davao Expansion, SM City Rosales Expansion Phase 1, SM City East Ortigas - Carpark Building, SM City Iloilo - Strata Tower 1 and SM Center San Pedro
