Three of the country’s greatest songwriters – Rey Valera, Louie Ocampo and Ogie Alcasid – will be featured in the Viva Live! Presentation “Kanta Ko, Panahon Niyo” on Dec. 2 at the KIA Theater in Araneta Center.
The trio and their special guests will perform their timeless, original works. The concert is directed by GB Sampedro with Ocampo as musical director.
Among Ogie’s popular compositions are “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka,” “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang,” “Kailangan Kita,” “Ikaw Ang Aking Pangarap,” and “Magpakailanman.” Louie has “Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin,” “Kahit Isang Saglit,” “You Are My Song,” “Ewan,” “Maghihintay Ako Sa Yo,” and so many others. As for Rey, he is loved for his tunes “Mr. DJ,” “Malayo Pa Ang Umaga,” “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “ Pangako Sa Yo,” “Sorry Pwede Ba,” etc.

All is set for the 29th Aliw Awards on Nov. 30 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, according to AAFI Founding and current President Alice H. Reyes.
Established 39 years ago, the Aliw Awards Foundation, Inc. will be honoring nominees and winners of 48 categories at a dinner show presented in cooperation with Blurock Production, Inc.
The top Aliw honor is the “Entertainer of the Year” award currently held by Gerphil Flores.
The AAFI Board recently announced the lifting of the limit to the number of times the Entertainer of the Year Award can be won by a performer.
