Awarded broadcast journalist back on air by Crispina Martinez - Belen August 5, 2016

Fans of awarded broadcast journalist Rey Langit are certainly thrilled to know he is back on air, this time on DZRJ 810 AM Radio.
His show “Kasangga Mo Ang Langit” airs weekdays at 10 a.m. His other show, “Balita sa Tanghali,” airs weekdays as well at 12 to 12:30 pm
Rey is simultaneously seen on 8 Tri-TV Cable Link Channel 7, and on 8trimedia.com live broadcast powered by 8 Trimedia Pro Incorporated.
Rey was formerly a broadcaster and station manager of DWIZ for 24 years (May 1991-2015). So, why did he leave, we asked. He said it feels different working for the station now that his good friend Amb. Antonio Cabangon-Chua is gone.
“It was because of him that I joined DWIZ. He recruited me. Hindi lang siya employer ko, he made me feel like family. In fact, he made me a member of the board of trustees of DWIZ. Ginawa niya akong shareholder, minimal lang naman but I was so grateful,” Rey related.
Rey started his broadcasting career in the mid-60s. “I was with the first generation of ‘Radyo Patrol,’” he shared.
He was invited to join DZRJ 810 AM 8 Trimedia Broadcasting Network and “I accepted kasi nagustuhan ko ang invitation nila. They did not base it on my resume and the accolades and awards I’ve received, but what they considered was my sincerity in public service. Na-touch naman ako.”
Tates Gana now with DZRJ
Tates Gana, mother of QC Mayor Herbert Bautista’s two talented children, made her debut as broadcaster on the same day that Rey started his two programs on DZRJ.
Known as QC’s First Lady for many years, Tates has had her share of public service. She has helped many especially womenfolk. But most importantly, she was a benefactor of Child Haus, a halfway house for cancer patients established by Ricky Reyes.
With her program “Serbisyo Publiko,” which she co-hosts with Angelo Almonte (former anchor and head of “Radyo Patrol” of DZMM), Tates hoped to help more people. “I intend to help connect people to government offices and agencies concerned with their problems.”
“Serbisyong Publiko” airs weekdays at 11 a.m.
